Santaan (transl. Progeny) is a 1993Hindi-language drama film, produced by D. Ramanaidu under the Suresh Productions banner and directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. It stars Jeetendra, Moushumi Chatterjee, Deepak Tijori, Neelam Kothari, with music composed by Anand-Milind. The film is remake of the Telugu movie Surigaadu (1992), starring Dasari Narayana Rao, Sujatha, Suresh, Yamuna in the lead roles. Both the movies are made by same banner and director, later remade as the Tamil movie Watchman Vadivel, with Sivakumar essaying the title role and Sujatha reprising her role from the Telugu original.
Plot[edit]
Watchman Sarju Narayan and his wife Laxmi have done everything to educate their son Amar and have much hope for him, but Amar desires to become rich and disowns his parents, who then face much difficulty in their lives.

Santaan is a Hindi drama television series that aired on Star Plus channel. Launched on October 22, 2007, it had a total of 297 episodes and ruled the TV screens until March 20, 2009.
Created by the Shakuntalam Telefilms and directed by Inder Das and Sujeet Singh, it was nominated in 2008 for the Indian Movie Awards.
Produced by the very prolific Shymashish Bhattacharya and Neelima Bajpayee, and with a well-chosen cast like Diwakar Pundir, Samragyi Nema, Sundeep Sahir, Daljit Kaur, Gaurav Khanna, Kushal Punjabi, Trishikha Tiwari and many others, the show succeeded in keeping the audience highly entertained at the hours when it was aired.
