Jan 12, 2020 Since the Nvidia driver is sensing the HDTV cant play 5.1 on it's speakers it refuses to send anything but stereo, even though the HDTV can pass 5.1 dolby or LPCM out ots coax to the AV receiver. If anyone knows of a working way to force or spoof Nvidia driver EDID monitoring please let me know. This here below did not work. Check in windows and see what is defined as the current sound output. It may have switched itself over to high definition device output on the graphics card when you installed the it. If you have a hdmi port on the gpu then thats where I would start looking. Uh beat to the punch.

I DO NOT want to run audio through HDMI, as I do not want receiver in the loop. NVidia 460 behaves exact same - I can get audio working through HDMI video card, but not onboard.
